We couldn't get the co-authoring to work in Sharepoint Online, only locally. Still, saving the file on each machine updates the changes. I thought there was a circular 'refresh' button in the upper left of the ribbon but I don't see it now. When I make a change on either one, and save the file, it shows the changes on the other computer when it's saved there.
